Tech Talks: Championing Women in Tech and the Power of Empathy

I'm absolutely thrilled to bring you some exciting news. Recently, I had the honour of being a guest on David Savage's renowned podcast, "Tech Talks". Our discussion, episode 592 and titled ‘Sarah’s message is simple, “Don’t be a dick”', touched upon critical topics surrounding women in tech and the pressing need for change.

Our conversation delved deep into the challenges and opportunities for women in the tech industry. A staggering statistic that we discussed highlighted that 45% of women exit the tech sector within their first 8 years. This data underscores the urgency of creating a more inclusive and supportive environment.

Drawing from my experiences as an Engineering Team Lead at Dojo, as well as the other women I have interviewed, I emphasized the paramount importance of empathy. As I articulated during our dialogue:

"It's really about empathy and being aware of how your actions impact those around you."

Such insights reflect my steadfast belief that cultivating empathy can catalyze transformative change within the tech landscape.
